Development Quality Engineer - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Location: Peterlee or Desford/Leicester, UK
Rate: £32.00 - £34.20 per hour
Duration: 12 Month Contract - Very Likely To Extend!
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days/week
Travel: Up to 10%
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of key APQP elements, including:
- Requirements Management
- Boundary Diagrams
- Interface Analysis
- QFD, DFMEA, DVP&R
- PFMEA and Process Control Plans
· Partner with design teams to define product architecture and system interfaces.
· Develop and cascade level-appropriate requirements across product hierarchies.
· Deliver actionable design/process improvements and validation activities to mitigate risk.
· Contribute to the concept, design, and analysis of complex components and systems.
· Collaborate across functional teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
· Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively across varied audiences.
What You'll Bring
Required:
· Minimum 5 years of Design Engineering experience.
· Minimum 5 years of Supplier Quality Development Engineering experience.
· Lead Training and Development Programmes
Preferred:
· Strong expertise in APQP tools and methodologies.
· Demonstrated analytical problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
· Mechanical aptitude with ability to guide product concept development.
· Proven leadership in cross-functional project settings.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience leading and executing engineering projects end-to-end.
